College Football Picks Week 8, 2026

Where Griff was WRONG in Week 7:

Florida at Texas -10.5 – “I hate this pick because I don’t trust Arch. But I think Florida is who we think they are (frauds) and Texas is who we know they are (not legit contenders but head-and-shoulders better than Florida)…I think (Florida) peaked vs Ole Miss.” – Florida won 27-24.

Georgia State at James Madison UNDER 58.5 – “Georgia State has not given up more than 17 points to a non-P4 school (they lost 44-30 at UCF). They’re also 5-0 ATS. JMU is 5-1 ATS and they’re giving up 15 ppg. This is an important conference game. Both teams are really good (respectively) and I think they do whatever they can to win, even if it means extending drives and playing more conservative.” – JMU won 49-22.

Where Griff was RIGHT in Week 7:

Florida Atlantic at Army -2.5 – “Army should not be favored, so that’s why we’re picking them. FAU is 4-1 ATS and SU. They’ve already beaten Navy this year (38-30). Army is just 1-3-1 ATS. They’ve had a hard time scoring (64th in the nation). They’re begging us to take FAU. Don’t do it.” – Army won 56-24.

Rutgers +6 at Maryland – “There’s just no reason for Maryland to be favored by this much. Yes, Rutgers is bad (1-4 SU/2-3 ATS). Maryland (2-4 SU/3-3 ATS) may be worse. This should be -3 just cause Maryland is the home team. Rutgers is at least coming off a bye.” – Rutgers won 37-30.

Last week: 9-10 / 2026 record: 61-52-1 / Since 2022: 431-406-11

Dominic Toretto’s “Take it or leave it” Pick of the Week (2026: 3-5 / Overall: 25-28-1): Colorado at Oklahoma State -13.5 – The Buffs average 11 ppg on the road. OSU is 5-1 ATS with five (5) straight covers.

NC State -6.5 at Stanford – The Cardinal are just not good. Don’t get fooled by their flawless 3-1 home record (wins against Hawaii, Georgia Tech and Elon). They’ve scored a combined 23 points in four (4) games vs Miami (FL), Duke, Notre Dame and Wake Forest. The Wolfpack are coming off a bye, they’ve beaten Louisville, they are the 44th best scoring offense going against the 133rd worst scoring defense.

Pitt at Miami (FL) OVER 48.5 – Hurricane OVERs are 5-1. The only game that didn’t go OVER was against Wake Forest, arguably their toughest opponent this year. Pitt is not better than Wake. Therefore, the OVER will hit.

LSU -7.5 at Auburn – Just betting the letdown spot for Auburn.

Texas Tech at UC OVER 56.5 – Cincy’s defense is atrocious. 34 ppg given up over their last four (4) games. Both teams are 4-2 to the OVER this year. This is a lazy pick from me. Feel free to fade it.

Baylor –3 at Kansas – I just don’t believe in Kansas. For Baylor, they lost 17-6 vs TCU last week but TCU has one of the best defenses in the country. They beat Arizona State 55-19 the previous game. Kansas’ QB is just too erratic for me to bet on. They have not beaten an FBS team this year. Maybe Baylor doesn’t win this game, but Kansas will absolutely lose it.

Oregon at Illinois +9.5 – Are you really going to take Oregon -9.5 with Raiola at QB after what you’ve seen from him?

Tennessee at South Carolina -2.5 – Does this line confuse you like it confuses me? Don’t take the bait.

Michigan State at UCLA UNDER 43.5 – Since losing Nico, UCLA’s games have ended 17-15 and 17-7. They have the 12th best rushing offense in the nation. I think they’re fine with leaning on the running game just to get a win. All UCLA has to do is win and they can get in the CFP.

BYU at UCF +7 – Again, the letdown spot. It doesn’t work for every game, but it will for this one.

Sacramento State +14.5 at Ball State – Sac State may be the worst team in the country. They’ve averaged 7 ppg over their last five (5) games. Folks, Ball State has no business being favored by this much. They’ve been dawgs in all but one (1) game this year (a 41-17 win vs Stony Brook). They just should not be favored by more than two (2) TDs.

Hawaii at Northern Illinois +4.5 – I’m sorry, but what the hell is Hawaii doing in Dekalb, Illinois? It’s the 1-6 Rainbow Warriors vs the 0-6 Huskies. Maybe the UNDER is the play instead, but I can’t, in good conscience, bet Hawaii as a favorite in this spot.

Ole Miss +3.5 at Texas – I stated Ole Miss’ case last week but I really think they’re an elite team and Arch is just not the guy. Texas is also 1-5 ATS. People forget that.

Vanderbilt at Kentucky -10.5 – Kentucky is just good. Vanderbilt is just not. The Dores lost to Arkansas last week and are 0-4 in the SEC. If UK were a bigger name SEC school, the spread of this game would be like 19.5.

North Dakota State at New Mexico -4.5 – I’m too scared to take the UNDER, but maybe that’s the play. Two (2) great defenses and running offenses, but I’ll take New Mexico with the home field.

SEC Insider Picks of the Weekend

Last week: 1-2 / 2026 record: 13-11 / Since 2022: 90-93-3

*the following is verbatim*

Mouth Watering Pick of the Week (2026: 2-5 / Overall: 22-26-1): Ole Miss +3.5 at Texas – Now I ain’t no mathematician, but something ain’t adding up here. Texas stinks. Arch stinks. Collin Simmons is out. Trinidad Chambliss is still Ole Miss’ QB. (Did I do that apostrophe correctly Griffin Weinberg? Or have I earned myself another (Sic)) (Editor’s note: Yes, you did the apostrophe correctly, but [sic] has brackets, not parentheses). Anyways, [sic] i don’t like what’s going on around TX right now. I think Ole Miss wins by a touchdown. (Or 2) (Editor’s note to the Insider: punctuation comes after the parentheses in the case of the previous sentence, and you do not capitalize “or” because it’s not a proper noun)

USC at Wisconsin +3 – A home team getting points at night? What’s better than that? I don’t have a stats guy but I know USC struggles big time when they come to the Midwest. I just don’t think USC is any good.

Texas A&M at Alabama -13.5 – No one, and I mean no one, is higher on the Crimson Tide than I am. [sic] DeBoar may be coaching for his job the rest of the way in at this point. I like a “back against the wall” Bama team. If they are who I think/thought they were, you go beat this crappy A&M team by 2/3 touchdowns.

Insider Dash’s Prop-aganda Parlay of the Week

2026 record: 0-7 / $10 bettor = -$70

*the following is verbatim*

Editor’s note: the prop-aganda parlay has been discontinued. NQATT.

Prem League Advisor Pick of the Weekend

2026 record: 2-5 / Since 2023: 15-18

*the following is verbatim*

Chelsea ML -140 vs. Tottenham

Just pick the better team. This Saturday’s slate is tough, but this is the game that sticks out. Tottenham have been struggling for too long for this to be the week they turn it around, while Chelsea have been playing great and currently sit 4th in the league. This being a London derby (Editor’s note: I believe it’s a darby in England terminology) worries me a little, but again, just pick the better team.
