College Football Picks Week 1, 2026

There’s nothing better than this.

Not necessarily the slate of games we have in Week 1, but pulling up whichever app you use to look at all the games you bet on before the games begin.

Just staring at it.

Gazing.

Glazing.

Bet-bating.

There is no better feeling in the world than what we get to experience right now.

It’s like getting two strokes on every hole for a golf match then shooting a double bogey that turns into a par to win that hole to go from ‘Down 8’ to ‘Down 7’ in match play then tossing your putter like you’re Blockie. It’s tough when you get no help from your playing partner (shrug emoji).

It’s like every morning when I wake up, I only open my left eye and it takes about 20 minutes for my right eye to open, but on days like this, I wake up with both eyes open, ready to attack the day.

It’s like looking at the big Spiderman tattoo on my back+shoulder in the mirror and thinking, “Gahh-damn right I did that.”

Cherish this moment: the first football betting board of the calendar year. Take a little extra time to look at the bets you made before the games begin. Don’t soak. Just soak it in.

I’m excited for another year with the SEC Insider’s picks. He/She/They/Ze went 1-2 in Week 0, but that’s OK because Week 0 is not real (show us yuh tootsies, Insiduh!).

The return of the Prem League Advisor, also 0-1 in Week 0, is coming off a tough 2025 season (5-7). But we need those picks to kickstart our Saturdays. Nothing better than starting the day with a win before you even wake up.

And we have a new addition to the blog this year: Insider Dash’s Prop-aganda Parlay of the Week. Everybody knows our friendly neighborhood Dasher. The guy racked up half of my yearly salary in the month of June alone. Dash will be supplying a player prop parlay for every Saturday slate of games. Prayers to the players and their DM’s if they don’t hit their leg of the parlay.

Let’s get to the picks.

Last week: 1-0 / In 2025: 116-110-6 / Since 2022: 371-354-10

Dominic Toretto’s “Take it or leave it” Pick of the Week (In 2025: 6-10 / Overall: 24-23-1): Abilene Christian at Texas Tech -42.5 – I believe they will do everything in their power to win this game by 100 points. All we need is 43.

ECU at Alabama -27.5 – Tailing the SEC Insider.

North Texas at Indiana -40.5 – This is the largest spread Cig has had at IU, but the Hoosiers have won seven (7) games by at least 41 points in his 22 regular season games. I think he feels some of the lack of respect being thrown around and wants to prove a point in game one (1).

Bryant at Army -36.5 – Respect the troops.

Ball State +50.5 at Ohio State – The Buckeyes play at Texas next week. They don’t need to run up the score in this one.

Tennessee State +46.5 at Georgia – Tailing the SEC Insider.

Texas State at Texas -29.5 – Texas wins by 35. They need all the momentum they can get before tOSU game.

Furman at Tennessee -47.5 – Josh Heupel is 3-1 ATS when favored by 40 points or more at Tenn. They’re not afraid of running up the score.

Oklahoma State -13.5 at Tulsa – OSU has all the North Texas guys from last year, including coach and QB. The Mean Green were a fan favorite of this blog last season. I’m hoping the trend carries over.

FIU +14.5 at South Florida – People forget that Brian Hartline is the head coach of USF.

Clemson at LSU -10 – If Brian Kelly were still coaching LSU, this line would make sense and I would hammer Clemson. But it’s 2026. Get with the times.

UCLA -2.5 at California – The Mainstream Bias Pick of the Week. It feels like everyone is on UCLA with the JMU coach now there and Nico is being talked about as a bounce back candidate.

SEC Insider Picks of the Weekend

Last week: 1-2 / 2025 record: 23-23 / Since 2022: 78-84-3

*the following is verbatim*

Let’s forget Week 0 ever happened eh? Hand up, we’re 0-3 last weekend if that Stanford scoop n score [sic] doesn’t happen. Talk about a bad beat. Season starts this week as far as I’m concerned. All SEC card for all the haters and loser [sic] (of which, sadly, there are many!)

Mouth Watering Pick of the Week (6-8 in 2025 / 20-21-1 overall): Tennessee State +46.5 at Georgia – Georgia just does not cover these big spreads under Kirby Smart. Isn’t there a running clock at a certain deficit now too? Kirby won’t run it up and they’ll look to play a bunch of guys to get them live looks.

ECU at Alabama -27.5 – Getting Bama to win by 4 scores feel like a lay-up [sic] here. Love the Tide’s new QB Keelon Russell and think they will be explosive offensively. Defense should be somewhat stout to [sic]. ECU feels like on [sic] of those schools where the best guys get plucked in the [sic] off season. Tide roll[.]

Clemson at LSU -10 – Has there ever been a more anticipated debut for a head coach? Does anyone need the season to start more than Lane Kiffin? Death Valley should be rocking and fortunately, I think the game has passed Dabo by. I think LSU wins by 14-20. Lane needs this one bad.

Insider Dash’s Prop-aganda Parlay of the Week

*the following is verbatim*

6-leg ATTD scorer (+637 ((used my 50% on DK to make it +956)):

Kewan Lacy – Ole Miss
Isaac Brown – Louisville
Daniel Hill – Alabama
Cam Coleman – Texas
Carson Hansen – Penn State
Jordan Marshall – Michigan

First of all, what an absolute honor and privilege it is to have a feature spot on the greatest blog north of Wisconsin.

Does this parlay really need an explanation? I’m taking the best player on each of these teams to score.

$100 —> $1,000

Prem League Advisor Pick of the Weekend

2025 record: 5-7 / Since 2023: 13-14

*the following is verbatim*

3 leg SGP (-125 on DK): Man City -1.5 + Over 2.5 Total Goals + Over .5 First Half Goals

First team officially dead to me this year is Coventry. They got mauled by the tigers (IYKYK)

This should be a blood bath. This is basically me taking Man City -2.5. I expect a 3-0 or 4-0 win for City at home. From watching Coventry this year I have them relegated by Christmas. City handled Palace fairly easy last week, this seems free.
